Rodalies train service suspended between El Prat and Vilanova due to construction works at airport station
"Every morning is a different story," commuters say, while company offers replacement buses

The Rodalies commuter train service between Vilanova i la Geltrú and El Prat de Llobregat is suspended due to construction works from Thursday to Sunday. The works involve building a new rail connection with the Rodalies airport station, and they affect the R2, R2Sud, R2Nord, R14, R15, R16, and R17 lines.
On Friday, as Thursday was the Workers' Day public holiday, many were unaware of the construction works and of Renfe's alternative bus route. Other commuters, however, were aware of the events but criticized the "absolute disorder."
"Every morning is a different story," one traveler told the Catalan News Agency (ACN) in Vilanova.
Another, Mari Carmen, was "fed up" when she went to the station as normal but staff redirected her to the buses.
"If you don’t have your own transport, you can’t get around because there are constant problems with the train," she complained.
Work will continue until Sunday, with alternative bus routes every 15 minutes. Travelers can either decide to stop at all stations with the buses or go from origin to destination without any stops.
In the case of regional trains, the alternative Renfe bus service starts in Cunit, where all passengers will be transferred by direct buses to Barcelona's Zona Universitària.
Renfe estimates that almost 8,770 replacement buses will operate in total during the four days that train services are suspended.
