Rodalies commuter rail services are operating on Wednesday morning under the planned contingency timetable, with the reopening of an additional section.

Train services have resumed on the stretch between Arenys de Mar and Blanes on the R1 and RG1 lines, according to operator Renfe.

As a result, passengers can travel by train from L'Hospitalet de Llobregat to Blanes, with a replacement bus service operating from Blanes to Maçanet-Massanes.

On the remaining lines, the mix of train and bus services in place at the end of service on Wednesday remains unchanged.

This week started with two separate incidents shutting down service across Catalonia on Monday, which caused more disruption after last week's fatal crash near Gelida

Passengers can travel free of charge due to the disruption.
