The heavy rain affecting Catalonia on Thursday is complicating mobility for commuters trying to get back home after work or school.

At least three roads have been cut, mainly due to small landslides and obstacles in the way. Another seven roads are partially affected, mainly in areas outside Barcelona.

A village in southern Catalonia, Mas de Barberans, was made inaccessible on Thursday evening due to the rain.

In central Catalonia, rainfall was more than 150 mm (153 mm in Castellbisbal until 7pm.)

The Catalan capital, meanwhile, has activated its alert system for possible flooding, as heavy rain hit Barcelona as well. Firefighters have attended dozens of incidents of ground floor flooding or falling trees.

Barcelona airport is experiencing some delays due to the bad weather and some metro stations were affected in the city center, although all services are now running.
