Problems in 'multiple services' reported after Amazon Web Services crash
Payment terminals and some banking services hit in Catalonia

A global outage of Amazon Web Services (AWS) is causing problems across "multiple services" around the world on Monday afternoon.
According to the company's website, the incident mainly affects the United States and originated in the Virginia region.
Some payment terminals, instant payments service Bizum, and other banking services are reportedly down as a result of the crash.
Other platforms experiences failures on Monday are Amazon Prime, Duolingo, Canva, Fortnite, and others that depend on Amazon's web services.
The multinational has assured that it is working to "accelerate recovery" and recommends that customers attempt any requests again.
In Catalonia, the impact began around 9 am, although without any major issues.
AWS is the largest cloud computing platform in the world, providing services across the globe.
