Police investigate anti-Israel graffiti on Girona Synagogue
Community considers attack "antisemitic" as they do not have "any say" in decisions of Netanyahu's government

The Catalan Mossos d'Esquadra police are investigating anti-Israel graffiti on the walls of a Synagogue in Girona.
The text reads "Israel, genocidal state. Silence = Complicity."
The community has already denounced the events and considered the graffiti as an "intolerable antisemitic attack."
Jews are from "many parts of the world," and the center in Girona does not have "any say" in the decisions taken by Israel's Benjamin Netanyahu government, they say.
Some months ago, the center had already complained about "antisemitic" attacks. Members of the group stated that they had to stop holding some events for security reasons.
Diego Hara, coordinator of the Jewish center in Girona, regretted the situation and said that the community is "focused on cooperating, backing coexistence, peace, and has no political links."
He believes that "allowing Spanish citizens to be marked for their religion is a direct violation of the fundamental rights of a democratic and civilized society, and affects Girona, Catalonia, and Spain's reputation."
"Tolerance, mutual respect, and peaceful coexistence are fundamental rights of our society, and it is the responsibility of all of us to defend them," he added.
