The Paüls wildfire in Baix Ebre county, southern Catalonia, began on July 7 and burned for over a week, affecting 3,321 hectares of agricultural and forest land.
After the fire was declared extinguished on Tuesday, the Catalan News Agency (ACN) flew a drone over the area to capture the devastation left by the flames.
The fire started near the town center of Paüls and spread into Ports Natural Park, advancing toward Alfara de Carles.
On the first night, driven by strong winds, it reached the outskirts of Aldover and Xerta, where much of the surrounding area was scorched.
As shown in aerial images, the flames even leapt across the Ebre River, reaching the municipality of Tivenys.
