Man arrested in connection with violent death of a woman in Barcelona
Man turned himself in at police station as police investigating as gender-based violence crime

The Catalan Mossos d'Esquadra police arrested a man around 1.25am overnight in relation to the violent death of a 34-year-old woman on Tuesday evening in the Sant Martí district of Barcelona.
The arrested man turned himself in at a police station in the Catalan capital, according to police sources.
The detainee was the woman's partner, according to Barcelona City Council.
The Mossos are investigating the incident as a gender-based violence crime.
After receiving warning at around 8.30pm, several patrols went to the scene, where they found the woman seriously injured. She was treated by emergency services, but ended up dying.
Emergency services teams are providing support and psychological care to the victim's family.
The Barcelona City Council will hold a minute's silence in condemnation and rejection of the killing noon on Thursday in Plaça de Sant Jaume.
