Lloret de Mar fines three nightclubs with €30k for selling alcohol to minors
One site had previously been fined, and another one promoted drinking with special offers

Three nightclubs in the northern touristy seaside town of Lloret de Mar received fines of up to €30,000 for selling alcohol to minors, aged less than 18 years old. The three sites are located at the Sant Isidre, Ponent, and Sant Joan Streets. During July, local police observed how the establishments had minors drinking alcohol on their premises.
One of the sites had previously been notified for selling alcohol to minors, and another one promoted drinking games with special offers and discounts, which also goes against local legislation
"We are against any campaign to make Lloret de Mar a non-controlled alcohol consumption destination," mayor Adrià Lamelas said.

The city council has issued fines for "severe infractions" linked to selling and promoting alcoholic beverages to minors.
Local authorities have fined the nightclubs with fines ranging from €15,025.30 to €30,050.60.
Lamelas said that police will increase control and maintain "strict" supervision to ensure the law is obeyed.
"We will continue to intensify police patrols," he added, as these infractions are a "risk for public health," especially for minors.
