Law and International Relations at the Autonomous University of Barcelona (UAB) has been ranked as the university course with the highest entry requirements for 2026, with a cut-off mark of 12.972 out of 14.

This score surpasses the physics and mathematics degrees at the UAB and at University of Barcelona (UB), which had been the courses with the highest scores in recent years. This year the cut-off mark was 12.924 at UAB and 12.812 at UB

The high scores for these three courses are related to the demand for these degrees and their limited availability, with only 20 places available for each one.

The highest scores for the courses with more than 40 places are headed by Aerospace Technology Engineering and Aeronautical Engineering at the Polytechnic University of Catalonia (UPC) with a score of 12.694 for 60 places.

Cut-off marks are determined by the number of available places and the level of demand. This year there were 560 degree options, 22 of which had cut-off marks higher than 12. 147 of them have cut-off marks of 5, indicating that students who applied have been placed and there are still vacancies.

Assignments

59,653 students pre-registered at one of the seven Catalan public universities and the University of Vic - Central University of Catalonia. Of those students, 80.78% have been assigned a place. Only 60.53% of those 81% were placed in their first preference.

For this first allocation of places, students can wait for the second round of placement or complete the definitive allocation process from July 10 to 15 and enroll in their university of choice on July 17. Students assigned with their first preference must enroll between July 14 and 17, depending on the deadline for each university.

Medicine at UB was the most requested course, with 1,547 applications for 200 places. Dentistry was the second-most popular with 1,042 applications for 120 places.
