Labor Inspectorate proposes fine for Glovo for keeping couriers on streets during heat alert

The Labor Inspectorate has proposed sanctioning deliveries app Glovo for keeping couriers on the streets in Barcelona during a red heat alert.

The labor authority considers that the company committed a serious offense on July 8, when there was a warning for high temperatures between 12-6pm.

The home delivery company violated the regulations on occupational risk prevention, a situation that was then reported to authorities by the CGT union.

The case is open and the union has provided as evidence the company's internal adverse weather protocol, which indicates that in the event of maximum alert the service should have been temporarily suspended.

Glovo defends that it has not yet been notified of the sanction and for this reason has avoided commenting.
