Inflation in Catalonia has dropped to 2.1% in April, driven mainly by drops in gas and electricity prices. This is down from 2.2% in March.

This is the third consecutive month that the Consumer Price Index (CPI) has fallen, coming down from 3.1% in February.

Gas prices rose this same month last year, while the drop in electricity prices has been greater this past month than in 2024.

In Spain, the rate of change of prices has also fallen by one-tenth of a percentage point to 2.2%.

As for the annual rate of underlying inflation, it rose four decimals, up to 2.4%
