Feminists filled the streets of Barcelona during the main demonstration on Sunday for International Women's Day.
The march began at 11:30 am at Jardinets de Gràcia, continued along Passeig de Gràcia and ended at Arc de Triomf, where a manifesto was read at 1:30 pm.
The slogan of the protest was "Against colonial and fascist imperialism: transfeminist struggle," with participants denouncing patriarchy and inequality and calling out "No to war!" in reference to the rise in armed conflicts around the world, including in Iran and Palestine.
During the march, demonstrators also chanted slogans such as "Long live the feminist struggle," while six percussion groups accompanied the procession along the route with drums and whistles.
Barcelona city police, the Guàrdia Urbana, estimated the turnout at 22,000 people.
