Hurricane Gabrielle remnants bring flood risk to Southern Catalonia
Baix Ebre and Montsià counties on red alert as up to 40 liters per square meter expected in just 30 minutes

The Catalan weather service has placed parts of Southern Catalonia on the highest alert for heavy rain.
Between 6 pm and midnight on Sunday, the counties of Baix Ebre and Montsià are under red alert.
During this period, rainfall could reach up to 40 liters per square meter in just 30 minutes.
The warning remains in effect from Sunday through Monday, with different areas affected at different times, particularly in the southern regions.
Over a 24-hour period, up to 200 liters of rain per square meter may fall in some areas between midday Sunday and midday Monday.
Some of the rainfall could be accompanied by thunderstorms and small hail.
Meanwhile, Spain's national weather agency has issued a red warning from 8 pm for water accumulation along the coast of Tarragona.
The heavy rains are linked to the remnants of Hurricane Gabrielle, now an extratropical storm, moving across many parts of Spain.
Valencia is expected to be one of the hardest-hit areas, with some schools already planning closures on Monday due to the forecast.
