Firefighters in Catalonia have responded to nearly 300 calls related to heavy rainfall by 10pm, with more than 100mm of rain falling in Barcelona and Badalona on Tuesday evening.

Civil Protection activated the Inuncat flood alert in response to street flooding and water entering buildings.

In Badalona, ​​the Gorg metro station was flooded and had to be closed, while in Barcelona, the storm has affected lines L2 and L3.

In addition, the water forced the closure of some sections of the roundabouts at different times, and several streets and basements of buildings were also affected.

The Parc Fluvial del Besòs also activated its emergency alert over potential overflow, closing the park to the public.
