Gas stations estimate price increases of 3-10 cents per litre from Wednesday
Business association foresees that filling the tank will be more expensive this summer due to the end of subsidies

Gas stations estimate that gasoline will increase in price by about 10 cents per litre, and diesel by about 3 cents, from this Wednesday due to the end of fuel subsidies.
This was stated by the president of the Catalan Association of Service Station Associations (Agrucaes), Albert Campabadal, who predicted that filling the tank will be more expensive this summer.
Speaking to the Catalan News Agency (ACN), Campabadal says that the discounts offered by the Spanish government to alleviate the impact of the war in the Middle East have been managed "much better" than in the case of the conflict in Ukraine, in 2022.
According to Campabadal, now filling up the car costs "more or less" the same as a year ago.
According to the association's calculations, from Wednesday, filling up a 60-litre tank will be about €6 more expensive in the case of gasoline, and about €1.80 more in diesel.
Coinciding with a reduction in hostilities in the Middle East, the Spanish government approved on Monday to begin lifting measures to contain inflation in the energy markets.
The reduction on VAT will be completely removed from Wednesday, meaning it will increase from 10% to the original 21%.
In parallel, the Spanish government is partially maintaining the direct discount on hydrocarbons tax, with a gradual elimination. This discount will be 15 cents per litre from this Wednesday, and will drop to 10 cents in August and 5 cents in September, until it disappears completely in October.
However, a clause is included to return to aid of 20 cents per litre in the event that the international conflict worsens and fuel prices rise above 15% annually again.
Farmers, fishermen, and transporters will continue with a discount equivalent to 20 cents per litre.
It's estimated that by the end of the summer, the price of gasoline will rise by 29 cents and that of diesel by 22 cents.
