One lifeless body was retrieved from the Bitlles River, in Sant Pere de Riudebitlles, on Sunday, and emergency services continued to search through Monday for a second body.
Catalan firefighters were searching for two missing people in Sant Quintí de Mediona after a car was swept away by strong running water.
On Monday morning, emergency response units increased searches for the second missing person.
On Sunday, emergency services found the body of a child aged 11-12, one of the two missing people, but his father was still missing. It has not yet been confirmed whether or not the second body found belonged to the father.
Services have been looking for the missing person all of Sunday night and Monday morning. A team of divers and a helicopter has been added to the search team.
The torrential rain forced the dry stream to increase and surpass the three-meter height. The water strength dragged the car from Mediona to Sant Quintí de Mediona.
Over 100 mm of rain fell in several areas of Catalonia on Sunday, including Montserrat mountain, where some hikers were due to be evacuated.
