Fire at 'Festes de Gràcia' burns down the Carrer Verdi decorations
Blaze started at 5.45am Sunday morning, over two hours after the end of activities, and no one was injured

A fire at the 'Festes de Gràcia' has burned down the decorations on the entrance to Carrer Verdi on Sunday morning.
The fire started around 5.45 am, more than two hours after the end of the activities that night, and no one was injured. By 6.20 am it was already extinguished.
The Barcelona Fire Department is investigating the causes of the fire, because the electrical panel burned completely, but it is not yet known if this was the origin of the fire.
This year, Carrer Verdi recreated a Mayan jungle, under the name 'Selva Verdi Maya'. The Festa Major de Gràcia Foundation thanked the "rapid" action of the emergency services and has called for "awareness" and "respect" towards the decorations. "They are a symbol of our identity and our festival," a statement read.
The organization has also expressed "support and warmth" to the residents of Carrer Verdi and highlighted their "effort and dedication" in the decorations.
