Operation against drug and arms trafficking involving more than 400 police agents underway
More than 20 searches of homes planned in Girona and Barcelona areas

The Catalan police, the Mossos d'Esquadra, deployed two units at 5 am in different parts of the territory against organized crime based in Catalonia linked to drug and arms trafficking.
More than 400 officers are involved in the operation, carrying out 24 entries and searches in different municipalities mainly in Girona and the Barcelona regions.
The two units involve agents from the Criminal Investigations Unit, citizen security, canine units, mobile brigade, operational resources area, the Special Intervention Group, the Hèlix group, and the drone unit.
Police are acting in Calonge, Lloret de Mar, Maçanet, and Llagostera in the Girona police region, while in the Barcelona region they are acting in Marganell, Vendrell, Roda de Berà, Els Garidells; Gavà, Mataró, Cabrils, Dosrius, Pineda de Mar, Gualba, Rubí, Martorelles, Vilanova i la Geltrú, Sant Pere de Ribes, Cubelles, and Sant Pere de Molanta.
