Covid-19 transmission has registered a slight increase during the last days, with an estimated incident rate of 78 cases per 100,000 inhabitants, the highest figure recorded in 2025.

Last week, there were 46.5 cases per 100,000 inhabitants, according to the Catalan infectious control information point (SIVIC).

Between June 30 and July 6, primary health centers diagnosed 1,812 cases, over 400 more than the previous week's 1,373.

This is also the highest number of positive Covid-19 patients registered during the year. During the same period last year, there was a slight increase of coronavirus positives after the flu, however, experts from the SIVIC center believe that the increase of cases is "potentially related to the change of the Covid-19 variant."

While cases have increased, hospitalizations remain stable with very low figures.
