What with the arrival of the Three Wise Men and winning the lottery, January 6 has proven to be a very special day in L'Escala.

A store, l'Anxova Milionària, in the small Costa Brava town in northern Catalonia has sold all the winning Three Kings Day lottery tickets with the lucky number 89603 worth €80m in total or €200,000 each.

"We're in shock," l'Anxova Milionària's Fèlix Pons told the Catalan News Agency (ACN). "My sister and I were working when she told me we had this number and we both couldn't believe it."

Some of the lucky winners gathered outside l'Anxova Milionària to celebrate with champagne. "I saw this number that ended in 3 and felt that I had to buy it," Tomàs Ramos told ACN. "I'll do renovation work at home and buy a car."

Paco Torres, another one of the lucky few, said he would use the money to help him "live better."

L'Anxova Milionària also sold around €18m worth of winning tickets to a store in the nearby city of Figueres' Bon Pastor neighborhood where, Pons says, there are "many in need" and it will "go to good use."

Second prize tickets, 72289, winning €75,000 each were sold across Spain, including in nine Catalan cities and towns: Barcelona, l'Hospitalet de Llobregat, Cornellà de Llobregat, Sant Andreu de la Barca, Horta de Sant Joan, Vandellòs i l'Hospitalet de l'Infant, Reus, Bellvei and Alcarràs.

None of the third prize 18918 tickets worth €25,000 each were sold in Catalonia.
