Cooler temperatures arrive to Catalonia this week with a chance of rain
Relief comes after record heat and string of torrid and tropical nights

Catalans will breathe a little more easily this week with the arrival of cooler temperatures compared to recent weeks.
The extreme heat of the first half of summer will subside in the coming days due to the arrival of two masses of cold air.
According to Catalan and Spanish meterologists, the first wave of cold air came over Catalonia from the north on Monday morning, bringing a slight drop in temperatures and likely new storms that seem likely to only hit mountainous areas at night.
Monday is already some 2-3ºC lower than on Sunday in Barcelona, with the drop even more significant inland.
The nighttime drop in temperatures will be felt more away from the coastline.
Tuesday is expected to be similar to Monday, before the most notable change is expected on Wednesday, with a powerful pocket of cold air that could lead to more significant drops and possibly rain.
The torrid nights (when minimum temperatures don't drop below 25ºC) will disappear for almost a week, while some days could even dip below 20ºC, meaning the nights won't even be tropical.
In June, for the first time since records began, temperatures in Barcelona's city center did not drop below 20°C at any point during the entire month.
