Catalonia initiates restoration works after last week’s floods
More than 100 actions to repair roads, clean ravines, and rebuild bridges to be carried out

The Catalan government has initiated a flood restoration project following last week's downpours in the southern parts of the territory.
In all, more than a hundred priority actions will be carried out this week to repair infrastructure damaged by last week's Montsià floods.
A dozen teams of technicians will be on the ground to restore accesses, repair roads, clean ravines, and rebuild damaged elements such as the two bridges in La Ràpita.
The restoration works come at a cost of €3 million and are carried out across a dozen towns in the southern Montsià region.
Visiting the region hit by the floods again, Presidency Minister Albert Dalmau insisted that authorities will undertake emergency reconstruction work while they plan the various medium and long-term projects required.
The government "will not rest" until all the damage caused by the floods has been repaired, Dalmau said.
In La Ràpita, the bridges on Sant Josep and Francavila al Mare streets need to be demolished and rebuilt, with an investment of more than €2 million.
While the works last, a temporary alternative pedestrian crossing has been enabled and a shuttle bus has also been made available to residents, which particularly facilitates access to schools in the area.
