The Catalan rapper Morad, known for his collaboration with Argentine producer Bizarrap, accepted a two-year suspended prison sentence for the violent incidents that took place during a video shoot in 2021 in the Hospitalet de Llobregat, next to Barcelona.

Morad was facing a six-year prison sentence for incitement of public disorder and aggravated assault with a dangerous instrument, but the singer’s lawyer and the prosecutor reached an agreement for a lower sentence in exchange for giving up the right to appeal and paying for the costs caused to the six police cars that suffered damage during the incident, amounting to €2,400.

The rapper will also avoid jail time and will instead pay a fine of six euros a day for the duration of the two-year sentence.

The incident occurred in 2021 when Morad was recording a music video in public. Neighbors complained to the police about the noise, and when local police arrived on the scene, “they found a large group of about 150 people, who, upon seeing the police, were led to insult the officers and throw eggs and stones at them,” according to court documents.

The singer pleaded guilty and accepted the terms of the sentence.
