The Catalan Ministry for Education and the Catalan Agency for Development Cooperation are taking part in a European project aiming at reforming and improving professional training in Egypt. The project, funded by the European Union, aims to promote some professional fields in the country, mainly tourism and hospitality. Catalan professionals are participating in the project in order to provide their experience in the tourism sector.

The European project also aims to promote the transfer and exchange of knowledge, training and updating skills, as well as to encourage the professional retraining of Egyptian professionals working in the tourism sector by using programs that are being currently used in Catalonia.

Thus, technicians from the Catalan Ministry for Education have reviewed, expanded and improved the training material of Egyptian professionals in fields such as green tourism and customer service.

The Catalan Ministry for Education and the Catalan Agency for Development Cooperation will receive €25,000 from the Egyptian government. The project constitutes part of the European Neighborhood Policy
