British businessman missing in Barcelona for over a week
47-years-old Giles Pooley was last seen on March 8
Giles Pooley, a 47-year-old British digital marketing expert, has been missing in Barcelona since March 8 after he left his apartment, leaving his dog behind.
Catalan Mossos d'Esquadra police have received a missing person report, and while the investigation is "active," law enforcement agents are "not actively looking" according to Giles' friend Dan, who spoke with Catalan News over the phone.
Pooley has been living in Barcelona for over a decade and currently resides in the city's Poble-sec neighborhood. His flatmate sounded the alarm because when he got home, he saw Giles' dog was there without anyone looking after him.
The family "have serious concerns for his welfare," as Dan told this media outlet.
"We are supporting the friends of a British man missing in Spain and are in touch with local authorities," said the UK Foreign Office’s spokesperson.
The Brit is 6.1" (1.85 m) tall and has gray hair. The SOS Desaparecidos association has already reported his disappearance.
