Spain's National Police arrested several people, including members of the Barça far-right ultras group Boixos Nois, in raids on Wednesday in Barcelona and the surrounding area.

The operation, connected to disturbances at April's Copa del Rey final in Seville between FC Barcelona and Real Madrid, was confirmed by police sources after first being reported by Ara.

Similar operations were carried out in other parts of Spain, leading to further arrests.

The unrest began on Friday night before the match, escalating on Saturday with clashes with police in Seville's Plaza Nueva.

Tensions flared after some Boixos Nois fans made Nazi salutes, leading to violent confrontations involving street furniture and one arrest.

Before entering the stadium, the Boixos Nois also fought with Real Madrid's Ultra Sur.

As a group, the Boixos Nois are officially banned from attending Barça games, although members often bypass the ban by entering individually.
