Body of sperm whale calf dragged to Costa Brava beach during levanter storm
Platja d'Aro city council warns CRAM Maritime Foundation and Maritime Rescue units

The body of a sperm whale calf, or cachalot, was dragged to the beach of Platja d'Aro in the Costa Brava on Saturday afternoon during the days-long levanter storm.
The animal was first spotted near the Alomar hotel on the beach, after being dragged due to the maritime storm recorded during the last days.
The Castell-Platja d'Aro city council warned the CRAM Maritime Foundation, in charge of rescuing maritime wildlife, as well as the Spanish Maritime Rescue units, so they could take care of the body of the sperm whale calf.
To avoid curious people getting close to the body, local police were deployed on site to patrol the area.
