Body found in suitcase near dustbin in Vilanova i la Geltrú street
24-year-old man arrested after cleaning worker spots corpse and calls emergency services

A body was found on Saturday morning inside a suitcase near a dustbin in a street in Vilanova i la Geltrú, a town 50km southwest of Barcelona.
A cleaning worker spotted the corpse in an area with several dustbins close to Anxaneta square in the coastal municipality, not far from the city center, and immediately called the emergency services.
Several local police and Catalan Mossos d'Esquadra police officers went to the scene and cordoned off the area.
According to official sources, a 24-year-old man was arrested in relation with the events.
The investigation was underway on Saturday morning in order to determine the cause of death and the identity of the body found on Saturday.
Although the case is under judicial secrecy, the first reports over the events say that the person arrested may be the victim's flatmate, and that both of them lived in Lepant street, in the same town, very close to the place where the body was found.
Vilanova i la Geltrú's local council released a statement condemning the incident, which happened only nine days after another body appeared in the Francesc Macià gardens with signs of violence.
“We would also like to urge the utmost caution regarding the information being circulated about these exceptional events."
