Almost 100 criminal networks dismantled in Catalonia in 2025

More than half dedicated to drug trafficking, while 633 arrests made

Nearly 100 criminal networks were dismantled last year in Catalonia, according to data presented to parliament on Tuesday by the Interior Minister, Núria Parlon.

In total, 98 groups were dismanted, of which 20 were criminal organizations and 78 were smaller groups.

Of the total, 54 were dedicated to drug trafficking, 55%.

In addition, the majority were also dedicated to property crimes, especially robberies.

The minister explained that 811 people belonging to these criminal networks were identified last year, and that 633 arrests were made.

Parlon specified that 35% were of Spanish nationality, 21% Albanian, 10% Moroccan, and 7% Colombian.

In addition, 52.19% of those arrested had no prior criminal record.

In relation to 2024, the reported incidents linked to criminal organizations or groups last year increased by 23.68%.
