2025 ended with best end-of-year unemployment figures in almost two decades

Catalonia ended the year with 323,236 unemployed workers, 0.58% more than in November

Catalonia ended 2025 with 3.57% fewer unemployed workers compared with the end of 2024. 

This means that December saw the lowest end-of-year unemployment figures in Catalonia since 2007. 

Compared to 12 months earlier, there were 11,959 fewer workers out of jobs at the close of December.

In total, there were 323,236 people registered as unemployment, 0.58% more than in November (+1,860 people).

Catalonia also lost 5,566 jobs compared to the previous month (-0.14%), but increased employment compared to a year ago, reaching a total of 3,874,736, which equates to an increase of 2.21% (+83,912 jobs).
