Pedro Sánchez announces elections for November 29
PM urges to confront right wing "regression" at ballot box

Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez has announced early elections for November 29.
The move concludes the two-day period of reflection he began on Friday after Congress rejected two housing measure decrees.
During these 48 hours, Sánchez held talks with Socialist Party officials and members of the executive branch, and the decision was taken to call early ballots to capitalize on the left's mobilization around housing.
In a speech offered on Monday morning that did not include questions from the press, Sánchez called for "mobilization" of the electorate to give progressive parties a "much broader" majority to "overcome the elites, achieve social progress, and continue transforming Spain."
