Visitors delight in 'beautiful and innovative' Festes de Gràcia decorations
Decorated streets packed from early weekend mornings to avoid crowds and the hottest hours

The festes de Gràcia kicked off over the weekend, with visitors flocking to the decorated streets from the early hours of every morning since Saturday.
"It's a tradition, we always come," Leire tells the Catalan News Agency. "It's very beautiful and they've innovated a lot, everything is brighter," she adds.
Attendees say that the crowds are similar to those of previous years and explain that they come as early as they can to avoid them. However, by later in the evenings, queues were far longer to enter different decorated streets.
"You can walk around perfectly, it's not overwhelming," says Remedios. They also take advantage of the early hours of the day to avoid the heat. "This year it's getting hotter and it's getting heavier," explains Esther, who also values the initiative of several streets to unite under the same theme.
Strolling through the decorated streets of Gràcia during the festes has become a must-see for many people.
Remedios has been coming there for years with her husband and daughter, Esther, and assures that what makes the festival special is that the decorations "are different every year, and always beautiful."
They enjoyed the nature-themed decorations the most, especially those on Carrer Verdi, where attendees experience the metamorphosis of a worm until it becomes a butterfly, in a route full of flowers and bright colors.
They also highlight the pirate-themed Carrer Perla. "It's very elaborate," explains Esther.
Leire and Esther highly rated the decorations of the streets of Fraternitat de Dalt, Fraternitat de Baix, Tordera, Progrés and Llibertat, all uniting under the same theme. Esther considers this year's decorations to be "incredible" and that the neighborhood is "very beautiful."
