UK PM caught holding Catalan beer during lockdown birthday party
Boris Johnson has been photographed with an Estrella beer in No10’s Cabinet Room
The UK Prime Minister, Boris Johnson, is believed to have been photographed holding a can of Catalan Estrella Damm beer, the UK Mirror newspaper reported.
The police are thought to have the picture of the PM at his "lockdown birthday party in June 2020" in No10’s Cabinet Room, the Mirror wrote. The photograph would be part of the Partygate scandal investigation by authorities in the United Kingdom.
Johnson allegedly appears next to Chancellor of the Exchequer Rishi Sunak who, the Mirror reports, is holding a soft drink.
The Partygate scandal has been going on for some weeks in the United Kingdom as it has been published that PM met with several members of his cabinet during the lockdown in 2020 and when social gatherings were not allowed.
The restrictions in place due to the coronavirus pandemic in the UK at the time did not allow such events. Initial reports by British media claimed that the PM did not organize the birthday party. Claims that have been denied by Downing Street.
The news of Boris Johnson holding an Estrella Damm beer has been shared on social media after the Mirror published it on their front page on Friday.
The Twitter account of the beer reacted with "ups" before adding an emoji.

Estrella Damm, a Catalan traditional beer
Born in 1876 in Barcelona, Estrella Damm beer is one of the popular beers in Catalonia. The drink has been considered one of the best beers in Spain when in 2015 it received the "Spain Brewery Award," awarded by the New York International Beer Competition.
Created by Alsatian August Kuentzmann Damm in the Catalan capital. In 1905, the company opened its new brewery in Barcelona’s Eixample neighborhood. The factory, known as ‘l’Antiga Fàbrica Estrella Damm’ is now a place for social events, concerts, and beer tours.
Catalonia, a beer land
