Catalan chef Joan Roca, mastermind behind the world-renowned 'El Celler de Can Roca', has been named best world chef. Again.

'The Best Chef Awards' recognized Roca as the top 1 cook in the world during a gala in Milan. The award is decided by a group of 350 prestigious chefs from around the planet.

'El Celler de Can Roca', in Girona, won the award of the second best restaurant in the world in July this year, at the 50 Best Restaurants gala.

In two previous editions, the restaurant was recognized as the best in the world. In fact, since 2010, the Catalan restaurant has always been amongst the top 5.

The other big names of world-cuisine

The number two in the world-best-chef's list is René Redzepi, from Denmark. He is currently working in his new project: Noma 2.0. Madrid-born David Muñoz has been named third world's best chef. Albert Adrià, brother of Catalan chef Ferran Adrià, is number 14 in the list.
