Interested in moving to Catalonia? A team of specialists will be hosting a free webinar to discuss Golden Visas, a residence permit issued to non-EU investors that has been gaining popularity in the last few years.

Participating in the webinar will be senior lawyer Toni Musalaev, who will be answering questions related to the key aspects of the Golden Visa, and Banc Sabadell’s International Clients Manager, David Hernández, who will offer financial guidance on investing in Catalonia.

People interested in investing who may need this visa if they are non-EU residents can sign up here for the virtual meeting taking place on September 14 from 5pm to 6pm (Barcelona time), which will offer guidance on the application process. The webinar will be held in English.

The local city council, through its Barcelona International Welcome department focusing on attracting talent from abroad, is organizing and hosting the event.

What is the Golden Visa?

The Golden Visa for Spain was created to encourage foreign investment in the country. The visa entitles the holder and their family members to reside in Spain and travel through the Schengen area without an ordinary visa.

The Golden Visa also offers an easy and quick renewal process and other benefits such as the right to work and study in Spain.

The application for a residency visa lasts often between 10 and 15 days. It is issued for two years and can then be renewed for a further five years provided the investment is maintained.

Spain Golden Visas are typically granted to those who purchase real estate in the country or invest in local companies.
