Australian contemporary circus company Circa brings 'Wolf' to Barcelona
Performance features ten acrobats who combine contemporary dance, visual theatre, and high-intensity physical circus.

Brisbane-based performing arts company Circa will bring its touring circus "Wolf" to Barcelona for five performances this weekend.
The performance re-interprets traditional circus by incorporating contemporary dance and theatre elements.
Director Yaron Lifschitz drew inspiration from the wolf as a symbol of the untamed self, creating intense choreography set to an electronic soundtrack by DJ Ori Lichtik and performed by an ensemble of ten. The show also features form-fitting costumes designed by Libby McDonnell and minimalistic set design.
"We have multiple aerialists in the show, which is kind of amazing to see," said Circa's resident director Nathan Boyle.

"Wolf" will run September 25 through 28 at Barcelona's Teatre Coliseum, a historic building built as a cinema in the 1920s. The touring arrives in Barcelona after stops in Luxembourg and Belgium, and will next head to Canada before a longer residency in Germany.
"The show is savage, it is poetic, and it is unapologetically circus," Boyle said.
