Clowns, nuns, werewolves: traditional Zombie Walk back in Sitges Film Festival
Legendary march reaches 16th edition and ends with screenings and 'dead party'

Horror and Fantasy Sitges Film Festival has already seen one of its most epic moments of every edition: the Zombie Walk.
Hundreds of people dressed up on Saturday night as characters from horror films and paraded across the coastal municipality south of Barcelona, coinciding with the internationally acclaimed festival.
One could see clowns, nuns, werewolves, zombies, and all sorts of scary characters with striking costumes and high-level makeup.

Members of the cast and crew of 'Re-animator', a classic 1985 horror film that won the Sitges Film Festival main award that year, welcomed participating at the beginning of the parade –actor Barbara Crampton and composer Richard Band were in attendance.
The film tells the story of an odd new medical student arriving on campus, and then a dedicated local and his girlfriend becoming involved in bizarre experiments centering around the re-animation of dead tissue.
On Saturday afternoon, the organization distributed free tickets for makeup sessions in the Sant Sebastià beach so that the aspiring zombies could vie for the awards that were given at night.
At 8pm, the march began in a new location, at the Miramar – Centre Cultural, and the path was also new, with a performance by the IAB dance school of Sitges.
After the whole show, a zombie marathon of films took place at Cinema Prado, and a zombie walk dead party was held at Uniq Sitges until 6 am, before the sunrise wiped those rising from the dead.
