Catalonia to commemorate National Day in 23 countries with cultural events, concerts, and gastronomy

President Illa to go to Paris, foreign minister to participate in Vienna, while Brussels to host Anna Amigó concert

The Catalan government will celebrate the National Day abroad this year, with around thirty activities in 26 cities spread across 23 countries.

The events will take place both on the National Day, on Thursday, September 11, as well as the following day, Friday, September 12.

President Salvador Illa will participate in the event in Paris on Friday, which will include a cooking show by chef Maria Nicolau and a concert by the group Alosa.

The Minister for Foreign Action, Jaume Duch, will attend the event in Vienna, with a performance by the duo Jasky.

Brussels will host a reception and a concert by harpist Anna Amigó.

In Asia, Tokyo and Seoul will host concerts and tastings of Catalan products.

Other European cities such as Berlin, Helsinki, Lisbon, Rome, Ljubljana, Geneva, Andorra la Vella, Zagreb, and Alghero will also host events.

In Latin America, the 'Diada', as the day is known in Catalan, will be commemorated in São Paulo, Bogotá, Medellín, Mexico City, Buenos Aires, Quito, and Guayaquil.

Institutional receptions and cultural activities have also been planned in Dakar and Rabat.

The events will feature the participation of the Institut Ramon Llull, ACCIÓ, the Catalan Tourism Agency and the Catalan Institute of Cultural Enterprises.
