Barcelona welcomes international residents to reception ahead of upcoming community day event
"It's a moment when locals and internationals come together": Barcelona International Community Day planned for October 25

El Born Cultural Centre, in the heart of the Catalan capital's old town, played host to the reception event for the 2025 Barcelona International Community Day on Thursday evening.
Up to 100 people gathered for the launch event of the annual meeting point for the international community living in Barcelona.
There, they got the chance to meet some of the speakers at the event, as well as exhibitors and organizers.

The Barcelona International Community Day will be taking place on Saturday, October 25, in the Maritime Museum, located near Drassanes at the bottom of La Rambla.
Tickets are free and can be acquired on the event website here.
"I believe that as the City Council of Barcelona, we must provide the tools for this international community to truly integrate, giving them real integration tools, because we have a culture, a language, and they need to understand and share it," said Nàdia Quevedo Muñoz, Barcelona City Council's Commissioner for Economic Promotion, Trade, and Restoration.
The event is the main welcome space for newly arrived international professionals and an important meeting point for all members of the international community living and working in Barcelona. As Quevedo pointed out, Barcelona's foreign-born residents make up 35% of the city and represent 182 nationalities.
However, it is open to anyone, including people interested in engaging with this diverse group of people who enrich the city. It is an initiative organised by Barcelona City Council through its Directorate for International Economic Promotion.
"It's a moment when locals and internationals come together, and we provide social and professional tools to people who have decided that Barcelona is their home," said Quevedo.

The event will have a trade fair featuring companies and organisations offering products, services and initiatives targeted at international talent, as well as a programme of activities, workshops and talks of interest to the community.
The venue will be open from 10 am to 7 pm, and the event is free of charge with registration on the website barcelona.cat/internationalcommunityday.
The day, promoted by Barcelona City Council, will be packed with activities, workshops, and conferences, including a local news quiz organized by Catalan News.
