A sky full of hot air balloons from all over the world
27th edition of European Balloon Festival held in central Catalonia
The European Balloon Festival returns this week for its 27th edition in Igualada, central Catalonia. More than 50 hot air balloons participated in the first flying competition on Thursday.
International teams from countries like India, Turkey, and England, among others, are participating in the festival that will take place between July 5 to 9.
On Thursday, the event was delayed by an hour due to the forecast for rain, but weather conditions were finally favorable for the balloons to take off.
One of the newest features of the festival is the night drone show on Saturday evening.
Also, there is a new romantic balloon ride: a red hot air balloon shaped like a heart with a basket for two passengers to enjoy.
