Temporada Alta, Catalonia's premiere performing arts festival in Girona, has presented the line-up for its 32nd edition.

The festival, which will take place between September 30 and December 10, will gather "the strongest list" of international artists ever, according to Salvador Sunyer, director of the festival, who presented the list of performers on Thursday.

One of the most exciting performances at the festival is British director Simon McBurney's show, 'Drive your plow over the bones of the dead'. This environmental thriller is based on the novel by Polish Novel Prize winner Olga Tokarczuck which explains the story of an old woman who lives in a village where hunters disappear.

Another international artist present at the Catalan festival will be Milo Rau. The Swiss director will bring 'Familie' to Temporada Alta, a true story of a Belgian family that, after spending a weekend at a cottage house, kill themselves.

German artist Thomas Ostermeier will also return to the stage in 'Qui a tué mon père,' by French writer Éduard Louis.

Anton Chekhov's 'The Seagull' will return to Temporada Alta once again. Salvador Sunyer explained that "this play has already been seen seven or eight times at the festival, but every time is through a different point of view."

The 32nd edition of the Catalan festival includes the version of 'The Seagull' directed by Lithuanian Jokubas Brzays, where there is "only the essence of the actors and the text."
