Sónar Barcelona presents part of 2015 festival line-up, featuring Duran Duran and Chemical Brothers

An additional 38 artists have been announced to perform at the 2015 Sónar Festival, held each year in Barcelona in June. This includes the likes of Eighties pop band, Duran Duran, pop diva Róisín Murphy, British quintet Hot Chip and FKA Twigs, considered as one of the most prominent vocalist at the moment. South African duo Die Antwoord, Arca, Flying Lotus and Skrillex, are also confirmed.  With these additions, Sonar’s lineup is shaping up to be its best yet, with the already confirmed performances of Autechre, Kiasmos, Kindness, Sophie, Daniel, Ten Walls, Holly Herndon, Kate Tempest, Jamie XX and The Chemical Brothers, who will present their new album ‘Hanna’.

Barcelona (ACN).– The 2015 Sónar Festival is expected to feature 150 performances from artists all over the world. Last week, 38 new artists were added to the lineup, including legendary Eighties band Duran Duran, Róisín Murphy, Hot Chip, and rising new British vocalist FKA Twigs. Also new to the line-up is South African duo Die Antwoord, Arca, Flying Lotus and Skrillex, who headlined Sónar 2013. These names are added to the already confirmed performances of Autechre, Kiasmos, Kindness, Sophie, Daniel, Ten Walls, Holly Herndon, Kate Tempest, Jamie XX and The Chemical Brothers, who will present their new album ‘Hanna’.  


A combination of fresh pop melodies and well-known classics will be a fundamental pillar to this year’s Sonar Music Festival. Performing artists such as Irish star Roisin Murphy, who after eight years of silence returns with a new LP; Hot Chip will present their new album which is still in the making; and Duran Duran, the iconic 80’s rock group, will perform their newly released album as well as their greatest hits.  

Other confirmed performances include Kate Tempest, Fat Freddy's Drop, Kindness, Sophie and Tourist; techno artists - Mika Vainio, young Powell; The Bug, Randomer, KTL, as well as the Italian group Voices From The Lake, Russell Haswell, Klara Lewis and Austrian artists LCC and Mego.

Other highlights also include Laurent Garnier, Headbirds and Totally Enormous Extinct Dinosaurs, who returned to the festival after 2 years, plus Icelandic star Deut Kiasmos and British DJ Daniel.
