Sónar announces changes to festival format and first 2027 headliners
Bonobo, Tokischa, Yung Lean, Jessie Ware, and Cornelius among first acts announced

Sónar will return to its original day-night format for the 2027 edition.
The change will mean Sónar reverts to its traditional format separating the day and night events, after this year brought the two components together in the one venue for a marathon festival.
For the 2027 edition, Sónar by Day will take place "on the seafront in the center of Barcelona," without further specifics provided, and will reincorporate Sónar+D into its program, while Sónar by Night will revert to its traditional format, spanning two nights across four stages, at Fira Gran Via.
The first 30 artists to play at the 34th edition have also been announced.
The festival will feature live performances by Bonobo, Tokischa, Yung Lean, Jessie Ware, and Cornelius, alongside DJ sets from Carl Cox, Peggy Gou, KI/KI, Romy, Oscar Mulero, Collabs3000 (Chris Liebing & Speedy J), and Honey Dijon, who will present 'Sinister'.
Sónar by Day, held next Thursday-Saturday, June 17-19, will once again offer a more accessible and intimate version of the festival.
Media reports this week suggest the venue, as of yet unconfirmed, could be Tinglados at Port Vell.
Lineup
Sónar 2027 will feature a new live show from Bonobo, one of the biggest names in contemporary electronic music. The British artist will present his latest work, Distance in Static, with a live production designed by Pierre Claude, the creative mind behind the live shows of artists such as Air, Gesaffelstein, and Phoenix.
A major debut comes from Tokischa, a leading figure in Dominican dembow. She has collaborated with the likes of Rosalía, J Balvin, Madonna, A$AP Rocky, Nathy Peluso, and Skrillex, and has even earned a Latin Grammy nomination.
The 34th edition of the festival will also feature live performances by the Swedish artist Yung Lean, an icon for an entire generation and a viral phenomenon who defined the 'cloud rap' sound of the 2010s, the British artist Jessie Ware who channels the spirit of Studio 54 and 1980s Ibiza, and the Japanese artist Cornelius, who has spent over three decades reinventing experimental pop and now arrives at Sónar to present his new album, 'Refractions'.
DJs
Prominent DJs from the international scene have also been announced for the lineup.
Returning to Sónar after more than two decades is Carl Cox, one of the most significant DJs in the history of electronic music and club culture.
Also joining the festival are South Korea’s Peggy Gou and the Netherlands’ KI/KI, who has established herself as a leading figure in this decade’s trance music revival.
Romy, a member of the revered band The xx, will also take to the DJ booth, transitioning from the intimacy of her live concerts to the euphoric energy she brings to her DJ sets.
Oscar Mulero will return to Sónar to showcase his cerebral, introspective techno, 20 years after his last appearance.
Honey Dijon will also explore a sound closer to the genre’s Detroit roots through her project 'Sinister.'
Meanwhile, following a collarbone injury that prevented his appearance in 2026, Goldie will perform live in 2027.
