Barcelona’s iconic music festival Sónar is having an important birthday this year: a full 25 years old. But, at a quarter of a century old, the event has proven that it’s still young at heart. In fact, the event seems to get better and better with time, its finger still firmly on the pulse of the most important tendencies of today.

On Tuesday January 23, Sónar announced that it added Thom Yorke , Radiohead frontman and musician behind Atoms for Peace and various solo projects, to its lineup. Some may have already seen the musician perform with Radiohead on the stages of the Primavera Sound festival in 2016. This year, the date to see him live is Saturday night, June 16, when he will be performing a retrospective on his music trajectory with the producer and audiovisual artist he collaborates with.

But this isn’t the other big name to look forward to. Now’s your chance to see Gorillaz confirmed  along with LCD Soundsystem, Modeselektor, Bonobo, Diplo, Laurent Garnier and many more.

Sónar 2018 will be host to more than 140 shows on 9 different stages. Those who’ve been to the event before may know that Sónar is a multi-faceted occasion. First comes the fun in the sun of Sónar by Day, followed by the underground revelry of Sónar by Night that Barcelona is so famous for. The festival also has a more participative side, Sónar+D, with conferences, workshops, displays, and networking for musicians.

This year’s event will run from June 14 to June 16, and expectations are high for attendance: last year, the festival made its best sales ever with over 123 thousand attendees.
