'Sirât' receives four nominations at European Film Awards
'Afternoons of Solitude' and 'Olivia and the Invisible Earthquake' up for two awards each

'Sirât' has received four nominations at the European Film Awards.
Oliver Laxe's most radical film is a Catalan co-production that was already distinguished at the Cannes Film Festival with the Jury Prize. It was the first time that a Catalan movie was in the race for the Palme d'Or, and will also represent Spain at the next Oscars.
The movie is up for Best Film, Best Direction, Best Screenplay, and Best Actor for Sergi López.
Two other films with Catalan links are up for Best Film, Albert Serra's 'Afternoons of Solitude', which is also vying for Best Documentary, as well as Irene Iborra's 'Olivia and the Invisible Earthquake', which will also compete for Best Animated Film.
The winners of the 38th edition of the European Film Awards will be announced in Berlin on January 17.
The European Cinema category includes five nominated fiction films, as well as the films nominated in the European Documentary and European Animated Feature categories.
The nominations are based on the votes of 5,400 members of the European Film Academy.
