After a three-year wait, Rosalía's latest album is almost here.

The Catalan singer revealed both the title and release date on Monday.

Her new work, Lux, will be released on November 7.

The news was leaked on social media earlier than intended, after being displayed on the screens of New York's iconic Times Square.

The Catalan star was supposed to reveal the album details on Monday night during a live TikTok session.

In fact, the session had already started, with Rosalía getting her makeup done for the reveal, when she learned that the news had been leaked.

"Really? It's already out? I just got it on my phone," she said, visibly upset.

During the live session, while having dinner and getting ready, Rosalía confirmed she would be heading to Madrid’s Callao Square to make the album reveal.

On the album cover, revealed in Times Square, Rosalía is pictured wearing a white nun’s habit.

The singer had already confirmed that the album would revolve around orchestral sounds, with mysticism and religion as its central themes.

Even the album's title, Lux, has strong biblical connotations. In Latin, it appears in the phrase fiat lux ("let there be light") from the third verse of Genesis.

In a recent interview, Rosalía explained that this is the first album she has made "without fear of failure."

"In the years I've been making music, it's always been from the belief that it would go well, that it's something that comes from the outside in. But this confidence, which comes from the inside and moves outward, is the first time I've come up with it," the artist explained.

Features and collaborations

Björk, Carminho, Estrella Morente, Silvia Pérez Cruz, the Escolania de Montserrat, the Palau de la Música Catalana chamber choir, Yahritza, and Yves Tumor all feature on the new album.

The album was recorded with the London Symphony Orchestra, conducted by Daníel Bjarnason, and is divided into four movements.

The album has a total of 18 songs, with titles such as 'Mio cristo', 'Reliquia', 'Berghain', 'De madrugá', 'Jeanne', 'La jugular', 'Memória' or 'Magnolias'.

Among the themes explored on the album are feminine mysticism, transformation, transcendence and also intimacy.
