The year of Rosalía is coming to a close, but Catalonia’s most successful singer is still picking up awards. Her latest came on Sunday night as she scooped up 'Best Collaboration' of 2019 at the MTV Europe Music Awards for her smash-hit 'Con Altura.'

The single, in collaboration with Colombian reggaeton star J Balvin and produced by El Guincho, is one of the biggest singles of 2019, with over 1 billion views on Youtube.

She was also nominated in three other categories - 'Best Video' ('Con Altura'), 'Best Push' and 'Best Look.'

The crowd, who attended the Congress and Exhibition Centre in Seville, were treated to a performance of her single 'Di mi nombre', which currently has over 43 million views on Youtube.

Artists such as Taylor Swift, Shawn Mendes and Green Day were among others to pick up awards.

The Catalan singer rose to fame a year ago with her smash hit ‘Malamente’. Her subsequent album ‘El Mal Querer’ achieved both commercial success and critics’ recognition for mixing flamenco with urban music.
