Catalan band Oques Grasses have sold out – in under an hour – tickets for two additional farewell concerts at Barcelona's Olympic Stadium on October 5 and 7 next year.

It means the group from Osona has matched Coldplay's record of selling out four concerts at the stadium, drawing 220,000 fans.

For Catalan music, or more precisely, for music performed in the Catalan language, it's an unprecedented milestone

In fact, no group singing in Catalan had ever attempted to fill the Olympic Stadium with a solo concert.

Oques Grasses sold out tickets for the first date announced, October 10, in just over twenty minutes on Wednesday.

Tickets for the October 9 show were gone in only nineteen minutes on Friday.

Selling over 100,000 tickets for a single artist performing in Catalan was already an all-time record – surpassing the nearly 100,000 sold by singer-songwriter Lluís Llach in 1985 for his most famous concert at the Camp Nou.

By selling out two more concerts, Oques Grasses have more than doubled that total.

The farewell concerts will mark the end of more than a decade of Oques Grasses meteoric career, which has taken the creators of Sort de tu, La gent que estimo, and Elefants to stages across Spain and beyond.

Oques Grasses are a cultural phenomenon, shaping the sound and style of Catalan music in recent years.

Formed in Osona in 2010 by Josep Montero – an electrician by trade – the band has built a sound and vision all of its own, mixing humor, sensitivity, and an honest look at everyday life.

Drawing on pop, reggae, funk, electronic, and urban music, they have developed a distinctive style that resonates with a wide audience.
