New Gothsland exhibition showcases original Miró maquette and Picasso sketchbook
'The Art of Master Prints’ open until June 27 includes works of Catalan sculptor Jaume Plensa

The Barcelona gallery Gothsland has brought together graphic works by artists Joan Miró, Jaume Plensa, and Pablo Picasso in its latest exhibition ‘The Art of Master Prints’.
For the first time, in a commercial setting, the gallery is exhibiting 20 intact printing plates used in the woodcuts of the Catalan abstract artist Joan Miró.
According to the gallery’s director, Gabriel Pinós, plates are usually destroyed after a series has been completed.
Visitors can also view the original maquette of Miró’s ‘Woman and Bird’ sculpture. The final 21-meter-tall sculpture is located in Parc de Joan Miró in the Catalan capital.
The gallery, located on the Consell de Cent street just off central Passeig de Gràcia, is also showcasing a series of 30 graphic works of sculptor Jaume Plensa that include his iconic head figures, previously only sold in the United States.

‘The Art of Master Prints’ also exhibits works from one of Picasso’s eight sketchbooks from his stay in Roya, France, between March 4 and 14, 1940.
The exhibition is open to the public until June 27.
