The rising Catalan artist Judit Neddermann has collaborated with the world-famous singer Alejandro Sanz in his latest album 'El disco'. Their voices, hers in Catalan and his in Spanish, join in the single 'Este segundo'.

Alejandro Sanz discovered this young songwriter from Vilassar de Mar through a friend and thought it would be nice to combine Catalan and Spanish in one of his songs, explains Neddermann in an interview with the Catalan News Agency.

She believes Sanz “was very brave to include Catalan language in the album”. “He is a world-class artist and millions of people who listen to him perhaps do not even know that Catalan exists”, argues Neddermann.

Also for her, this was a “clear” sign to boost bounds between cultures in a moment when “politics have broken links that exist but are refused to be seen”.

“I am very happy with the result”, assures.

Barnasants Festival

Neddermann played last Sunday at the 24th Barnasants Festival, mostly songs from her last album ‘Nua’ (‘Naked’). With more than 100 concerts this music event in Barcelona gathered around 12.000 people in its latest edition.

“It is more than a festival, it is full of content”, said Neddermann after putting an end to the event with her concert.
